Christian Women's Job Corps® - HOPE
offers a HANDUP to hurting women
by accompanying each woman where she is
and instructing her in life and job skills.

Through CWJC's life and job preparedness classes, mentoring, and celebrations,
she becomes more confident and empowered to set goals for herself
toward a bright and promising future.
No more defeat and failure,
rather a life of accomplishments and successes;
leading to freedom from the cycle of poverty for herself and her children.

Jeremiah 29:11 (The Message)
I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out,
plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

What CWJC Means To Me

By: Syneatta McDuffie

As a member of CWJC, one receives the ability to become all they can be! Not only is it an organization which provides fellowship/friendship, but a nourishing environment where women with same and different circumstances come together to learn many life skills. With CWJC you can receive many fruits of the spirit (love, peace, joy, etc.). CWJC supports not only its members, but also their families. The love extended is not only for its members but also their families.

Mentors are important, too! I urge all women who may want to be a mentor to please do so. It will be a rewarding experience for both your protégé and you. Each adviser is genuinely committed to assist their protégé to succeed.

The computer course is made to be easily understood. The teachers are very willing to help each protégé succeed. There is guidance and support in all of life’s problems and everyday experiences. The guidance is felt with much love.

There are lots of celebrations! Every positive result is rewarded with much love and encouragement. That is why I LOVE CWJC.

Experience of a Mentor

By: Bonny Burns

My husband and I have 3 sons all in their early 20’s. I was a church secretary for nearly 10 years. Aside from the small food pantry our church runs, we received calls daily for money.  There's always a need, always a story.  Some stories are genuine, some you've heard before a million times.  After a while, two things happen, you get very jaded and you realize there has to be a better answer to poverty than bandaging it up with greenbacks.  Because, very quickly the money runs out and the people are back for more, not having the skills to sustain themselves.  I had no idea what the solution was.  We limped along trying to help as our budget allowed.  There was a lot of frustration.  We saw the same people month after month.  Why couldn't they get a handle on their lives and help themselves?  Well, they don't know HOW to get out of poverty.  They are struggling along the best they can, desperate to the point of dishonesty when it comes to feeding their children.
About a year ago, a friend introduced me to Christian Women's Job Corps.  Immediately it was clear to me,
this was the answer to the repeat patrons our church office sees month after month!!!  I decided to become a mentor, to walk beside a woman who is struggling and help her.   CWJC equips ladies with knowledge and practical skills.  I've always held fast to the concept that knowledge is power.  Bible knowledge helps them absorb the love of Christ and shine.  Job and life skills help them become self-sufficient. Mentors are matched with our ladies (protégés). Forming a relationship with a protégé takes time and patience.  Why should she trust me?   How many people have let her down?  I'm hoping my protégé, Syneatta, can see my love of the Lord and how He works in my life.  God will reveal whatever is needed as we walk further down the road together.  I feel the inner joy that fills each of the ladies involved with CWJC, thankfully it IS contagious!  We would love to get to know YOU better!  Come see what mentoring is all about.  There is no better mentor than Christ.  There's no better way to feel closer to Christ than through mentoring.
